Appointments are 30 minutes.
You will need to take action prior to this event. You need to create FSA IDs for parents and student. You will receive instructions on how to do this via email shortly after submitting this form. This step can be done on the
student.aid.gov/fsa-id website. Complete this step asap. It can take awhile to verify an ID after creation. You must have this ID to complete a FAFSA.
If parents file taxes jointly, then only one FSA ID is needed for parents. If they file separately, then both need a FSA ID.
Documents to bring:
1) Your Federal Tax Returns from the last two years including W-2 and other records of earned income.
2) Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable).
3) Records of untaxed income (if applicable).
4) Social Security Number (Students/parents without a SSN may still file).
5) Alien Registration Number if you (student) are not a US Citizen.
6) FSA ID login information (username and password).
7) A list of college's you're considering.
